yes .. if both cars are stock a VP will beat a VS and any other stock commodore 6 (excluding 190kw alloytech) 0-100 & 1/4 mile. This is proven from the drag strip & factory figures. I love my VS, i would naturally prefer to own a VS, a few minor mods to your VS can have you beating VN's etc every day of the week.

theres more to it than just power figuers.... weight and drivetrain configurations will effect the rwkw causing a manual vn to beat an auto vp due to the loss of power through the auto box and different gear ratios (not diff ratios before any1 gets smart). Talking stock of coarse! once cars are modded its different again. and then again a fat person in a vp may just take away those extra 2 or 3 kws lol. then theres also your tyres if one car has worn down tyres by say 2mm that will effect the acceleration again. basically there are too many variables to say that one model is better than another just solely bassed on 15 year old factory power figuers that btw are never right to start with

If you really wonna discuss something then try discussing how much quicker/slower will a VP with a BLOWER will be against a VS SS.

yeah, i spose it's a little insignificant comparing stock 125kw VN & VP 130kw beating every other stock V6 commodore, this site is sort of geared towards people who like a bit more than factory power anyway. i think alll understand that its not all about kw's blah, blah, i.e a mates got a VX SS, chopped 1/2 second off 1/4 mile simply by changing diff ratio. THE ONLY POINT THAT IS BEING MADE IS THIS: all things BEING EVEN,

We're talking stock here, it's a bit hard to compare different models once you modify with Superchargers etc. There are so many variables.

My two bobs worth: VP with Blower (V6) would blow away VS SS. Stock 304's are 15 second material. Supercharged V6 (aftermarket), average anywhere from 12 - 14+ over 1/4 mile. Supercharge the VS SS very different story!

I thought the ecotech made the car less powerful but more economic. in the stats on the main site the vp's 0-100 is much faster than the vs's and i think the quarter mile is quicker 2.

vlv8vic, well we are on the topic of flying a VP to the moon, i was thinkin about weldin up a pulse jet and bolting to back of my rodeo ute. this would have to run a good quarter! (?) brakes might get a bit hot on re entry but.
