    Default Driveway Issues

I know this is a bit of a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway, if there is a solution to this problem I guessed it would be here.

I've owned my VY S pack for about a month now and I love it. However, I have a very steep driveway which is creating a few issues for me. I did think about this before purchasing the car, but I didnt have any problems getting my old man's bmw in and out of it safely which is about the same height if not lower than my car. So I thought no worries.

Entering the driveway hasn't been an issue so far, it's exiting when the problem happens. The front bar always scrapes the road a little bit no matter how slow I go or how much of an angle I put the car on. This is with the car at stock height (FE2 springs). I'm guessing its because the front bar sticks out a fair compared to other cars. A temporary solution I've come up with is putting one wheel up on the nature strip as I leave the driveway but I don't really like doing this and it doesnt stop the scraping 100% of the time.

My question is does anyone else have/had this problem and is there a way around it without changing the suspension? Reversing down the driveway is unfortunately not really an option because of how narrow it is and the awkwardish curve.
I was thinking maybe plywood/metal sheeting at the bottom to reduce the angle that driveway makes with the road? Im just not sure how to go about it or whether it would work.
Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated
I dont have any pics of the driveway at the moment, im at tafe. Ill put some up when I get home so you guys have a better idea of what im up against

PS parking on the street isnt really an option either because: 1. i dont want my car parked that far away from the house, and 2. my street is pretty much a big valley and im just about in the middle of it, so people usually drive pretty fast past my house on account of coming down the steep hill. ive had a couple of near misses myself and that was without a car parked on the side of the road

    Cheers guys

maybe consider cementing some ramps or some wooden ramps at the end of your driveway? Uncle had to do that for his car because they had a massive gutter

my driveway does the same except my rear bar scrapes not the front. occasionally i can get it up on an angle where it doesnt scrape but often my neighbour parks opposite my driveway and that means i cant actually enter my driveway straight.... scrapes every time.

Getting up the driveway isn't the problem, its exiting when it scrapes. Like I said angling doesnt work I have tried time and time again

Hmm your in a bit of a pickle there as the road slopes towards the gutter and in reality a bit of steel or ply won't help as in no time at all you will get sick of having to put it on the road to exit. and you can't really leave it there permanently. Hope you find a solution.

its the guttering that kills ya. when your front wheel goes in that dip the bar drops down just enough to scrape. there are a couple of fixes.

    1. throw a bunch of gravel in the gutter. you will need to keep applying it though and it will block the drainage which isnt great
    2. tip a couple of bags of cement in the gutter. more long term but the council will fine you bunches of cash. donotwant
    3. put a metal tube in the gutter and dynabolt a plate of steel over it. this is the best way cos it will allow water to pass through and it will be permanant without the council cracking the shits. pretty expensive though.

but yeah all you need to do is fill that gutter about 2 inches and you will be sweet.

Reverse down it. After a couple of goes you will get used to reversing like that and it will never be an issue again.
