    Unhappy R.i.p. '92 vp ;(

Out for a jolly sunday drive.... guy runs a red light, *bam* my day is ruined. Mr NRMA assessor says "no way in hell", and so she's a write off.

My poor VP had suffered 4 accidents over it's 18-year life, none of them my fault. This last one has sent her to the knackers yard, so to speak. Makes one wanna f--kin cry.

(Oh well at least the guy who hit me was a Commodore as well, there's a kind of symmetry there.)

Well she was nothin special, not like the beasts I see on this forum. Merely a stock Exec S V6. A busted interior light, tacked up roof lining, and a rampod. The odo broke at 197,000 and the factory cassette player broke long before that. But hell, she was mine. Like the old Madness song, "its not much but I've been far".

    v.v

The big decision now... VX II or VY?

Do you like curves or edges?

That sucks to hear man. Doesn't matter if you have a street machine or not, it was your car and it would be gut wrenching to most people too.

Guess you gotta look forward to something new and start of fresh

Getting hit by other sucks. I have been twice rear-ended by others, and once had a light pole (private car park) fall on my car. Thankfully all have been able to be repaired.

I personally like the VY because thier Clubbie kits look way better. But saying that, I have a VX with a Clubbie kit and I like it fine.

If you not sure which to buy then shop around and see which model you can get a better deal on. A VX with 100,000km would trump a VY with 150,000km for the same price. Just get a VX series 2 if your getting one, they made a few tweaks to the suspension and its a bit better.

Sorry to hear that mate, car accidents suck

Personally I would go the VY. I've owned a VT as well and even though theres not a whole heap of difference when you examine it, the dash and steering wheel/instrument cluster of the VY make the interior a much nicer place to be than the VT, and seeing as the interior is the part of the car you spend the most time looking at, I personally hold it in a pretty level of importance. Obviously this is just my opinion and Im sure there are plenty who disagree, but I the end its up to you I guess it comes down to money and personal preference in the end. Good luck finding a new car!
