    Default Custom Door Skins

So i have searched the forum to no avail for anyone who has either made custom door skins themselves or professionally. I plan on making door skins to house two splits each including the crossover, and arm rest. out of mdf and expanda-foam. and get it proffesionally trimmed in black and white vinyl/leather. so i thought i'd ask if anyone has done anything like this before. i will keep this thread updated on any how to's, photos or tips i come across. thanks.

There was an artical in a Street Machine mag about a year ago with step by step instructions on how to do it... I'm sure if you searched through there website you would be able to find it. From the looks of it it wasn't that hard, and looked that well. But basicly you cut your holes, use ply to build up around your speakers, use plaster or something simmilar to smooth up to the rises and such, and basicly use fabric glue to lay your Vynal or whatever other material you want to use...

That doesn't even make sence to me so I dunno how help it was :P

yeah, sort of made sense i'll be sure to have a look on their website.
i have a general idea how to do it, just some pictures, tips and expertise would make it so much easier.
being such a perfectionist i think i might have to have a few practice runs to be honest

well i have found a couple of how to's the first one being fairly basic, but it covers the general concept of how to do it. while the second one is fairly extreme.

the first one seems fairly do-able. but of course with 2 speakers rather than the one, and with a VT door skin.
    what does everyone think?
