    Default Torque Wrench??????

How many people use a torque wrench on spark plugs, etc? I have never used one on them in years of services, but interested to know how many of you guys do.

When I was a young bloke I never bothered using a torque wrench except for on certain things like head bolts, mains etc. These days I try to use it whenever I can, like on wheel studs ,I also do up the spark plugs with it too, which for the V6 ecotec is 15 to 25 Nm.I do them to 20Nm which is not very tight really, just firmly nipped up enough so they seal properly, which is why the engine designers would have set the tension for them to be 15-25 Nm. ...You would be suprised how many bolts actually get tightened up too much.Id guarantee that most peoples spark plugs are tightened up way too tight, and many other bolts for that matter.
