Default Commodore hub caps/removing studs from discs

Posting 2 questions instead of making 2 different posts.

I don't know what hub caps come with my VT (VT Acclaim if they are stock?) but I swapped them over to my Calais. They don't look the best but they look OK on the VT.

Just wondering what other 15" hub caps look better and what they come from, only really intrested in Holden hub caps and not after market.

I don't know much about what comes off what but I have seen some really nice ones but cant for the life remember where I saw them, from memory they are about 8 spoke hub caps, thick and squarish.

Ill be keeping the chasers on the VT but wouldn't mind a nice set of hub caps to throw on and off when I feel like it, they do look good but I think it will attract police more than hub caps would.

If anyone could tell me what model hub caps are nice or seem nice to them, even post pics if possible I would like to see as many as possible.

Here is a pic of my cars after I swapped the wheels over, the hub caps are alright but I'm sure I have seen a lot better.

2nd part, my VT has 2 broken studs on the back wheel, is it just a matter of take the disc off and bang the 2 broken ones out and bang 2 new ones in or is there more too it? Thanks

Yeah - just smack the studs out and press in new ones. I normally push the new one in as far as it goes and tap it with a hammer (not too hard), fit the wheel and pull it tight with the wheel nut. I normally re-tighten the nuts after 20 min of driving and then re-check them after a few days.

Very much a personal choice but I have always beleived the Series 1 VT Exec wheel trims were the best looking 15" trim Holden offered. Those you have on the Calais are'nt VT Acclaim, they've off a VZ Exec I think.

Yeah, I think they might be, but painted black. Those others might be VX, I can't recall what I've seen them on.

Thanks, you seem to know your hubcaps :P I have no idea what is what.

On a similar subject, these rims are probably cut and shut right?

15 x 8" chaser wheels RARE! drag drift race commodore (eBay item 160507232370 end time 26-Nov-10 18:24:20 AEDST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

Cant quite tell by the pics if they are cut and shut or not but 8" chasers would be pretty nice for the rear if they ever come out on anything but I assume not as I have never seen anyone talk about them ever.

I don't think the rims have been cut and widened - it's more likely that the centres have been fitted to wider rims. I couldn't see any sign of a circumferential weld around the inside of the rim but you can just see two spot welds where the rim and centre are attached.
