    Default Insurance

Hey I'm 19 looking at buying a ve sv6 ute and the insurance as expected is 2-3 grand, however my mate who has a sv6 ute is paying around 600 for his due to it being under his old mans name with him listed as a driver....

Now my questions are, is this legal to do it this way? Will you be fully insured or will they pull the pin coz you pull a shifty? And what are other people paying for insurance?

    Thanks heaps guys.

All other ones i got quotes from $2000 at AAMI to $5500 at Allianz...

Yeah the 2-3 grand was from AAMI, would love to hear more opinions and if anyone else has heard of or has their parents as the owners and them as drivers and how that is going for them, Thanks again mate.

Thanks for the reply mate, sounds similar to my mates insurance, however I'm still a bit worried about doing it this way as the AAMI person said that there is the risk doing it this way saying that they could investigate claims and possibly could result in you being not covered due to the parents not being primary drivers, have you had an issue wogboy?

Vz exec was quoted the usuall $2000-$2600 from aami, rac, etc but found Progressive Direct, fully comp with me (18 year old male p-plater) as main driver for $1200.

Was pleasntly surprised, havent needed to use them for a claim yet, but others have said they are good, and its so easy to update the policy cus it's all online.

That sounds pretty good, the gay part about the ute is they quoted it with a value of 38 grand even thought I'll get it for 32 purely because it's a ute and they hold their value better, but anyway thanks for the rep lie phatcommy
