ok listen to this drama...Picked up an Alto Grey SS sedan 2 weeks ago...just after i picked it up noticed a large scratch on boot and defect in paint on bonnet...went straight back and booked in for it to be fixed!!!..how bad is that...anyway got car back and last two days been putting paint sealant on and noticed overspray on the bottom of all four wheels and edges of bumper and around where the front number plate surrounds....OK ....do you think that it is possible that some of the overspray could have been already a fault from holden is it possible...but it seems to me it is from the repairs...has anyone ever noticed overspray especialy on rims? I just dont know how to tackle this cos you know what the sharks are like at the dealers...frickin devastated and put off my new car...OPINIONS pleae
So Holden organised the repair? Have you spoken to them again since?
Clay bar mate, will come up better then new. Cost about $15 and you'll probably end up doing it regularly.
yeah i havent spoken to them yet but im going to get a second opinion from a detailer today.....you reckon claY BAR will take it off??? ive got a paint cleanser that is simillar but unsure....see what happens
Clay bar will definitely get it off and make your car shine at the same time. Takes a fair whack of elbow grease though.
yeah heard clay bar is good...elbow grease alright...its on all 4 rims too!!!
the paint on the wheels wouldnt be from the factory, its deffently from when the defects got fixed, sounds like it wasnt masked up properly when spraying.. take it back and get them to fix it.
then clay bar the car anyways, does wonders
Yep , The wheels are the last thing to go on the car so it wouldn't be from the factory . I guess it could have got damaged from the factory to the dealer seeing that when they leave the fractory they are put onto a transporter or train , then taken off at the dealer then put into car yard so i would suspect that some would end up getting bumped then needing a bit of i touch up.
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
Even if his car didn't get repaired, who says another next to it didn't?
Happens all the time in panel shops.
