    Default Which to buy???

    Looking for some help/opinions.

Looking at selling the trusty VZ Acclaim in the next month or so and moving into another VZ.

I'm keen on the premium alloytec with the 5 speed gearbox, not interested in a manual, that leaves me with the SV6 or the Calais.

The SV6 can be found for a lower price than the Calais and it doesn't have the full suite of electronics, not keen on spoiler, sporty bodykit appearance though.

Although the Calais looks much more conservative than the SV6, which is what I'm after.

What bothers me with the Calais are all the electrics, as mate owns one and he's had problems with the seats, climate control, the radio/CD player. All of which were horrendously expensive to fix and the seats have since failed again.

What are people's/owners opinions on the Calais, or should I just deal with the appearance and get the SV6???

    Cheer's.

if you're not after sporty, why would you even look at the SV6? Calais for sure if aggressive styling doesn't float your boat. Calais has nicer lights too

Took one for a test drive today, very nice, ride wasn't as smooth as I expected for a calais, what sort of suspension set up do they have as it feels quite a bit harder than my Acclaim yet the tag under the bonnet still says it has STD.

Was surprised with the 190 after driving the 172 in the Acclaim for the last few years you can notice the extra poke, the gearbox could be helping with that though, you can really hear the induction noise when you give it a bit of boot.

Discovered a nice feature, when you put it into reverse the passenger side mirror dips automatically which it nice as I drive with that mirror dipped all the time with the Acclaim to help with parking.

Any point in getting one with the 'certified' used vehicle warranty???

So the calais seems the way I'll be swinging, either in white or silver. I'll just have to make sure all the electrics work properly before it drives out of the yard.

Because I'm looking to purchase the new car with the sale of the Acclaim plus cash and I initially though the Sv6 would be considerably cheaper than the calais, yes the calais does have nice lights, are they the same style lights as on the SS???

Yeah his luck with his has been atrocious, he's having problems with the timing chains and sludge forming under rocker covers now. The problem he's had with the seats are somewhat common though apparently.
