Gday, i have a direct injection diesel. Im just wonder what the tacho sender wire would plug into on one of these. Its a tata telcoline and any direction would be very well appreicated as there is absolutely no info on these bastards
1. for the love of god WHY a Tata?
2. Most older diesels either have a sensor (think like a ABS wheel speed sensor, but powered by the engine belt), or use an adapter that works out the rpm from the unregulated alternator signal. On newer diesels the ECU might provide an rpm signal since it would be monitoring the crank/cam angle/position sensor.
lol for one the tata was free with 70k on the clock , very cheap to run as i got another tata for a bottle of turkey . cheers i will start having a look around in those areas
