I just got told that apparently the government has put laws in to have only l platers drive 4 cyclinder cars, can someone tell me that this is wrong? needing comfort here
just paid over half of the payment for my vx ss................

If its on the news, find out when its supposed to be brought in etc.

If you have a licence and already own the car I cant see a new law effecting you.
Every other state, it hasn't been retrospective.

If on the other hand you don't have a licence. Put the SS into a shed and spend money on it while you thrash an 88 laser around.

I'd say you're rooted then. Put it in a shed and spend time building it. Then when you CAN drive it, you'll be able to walk straight into a high powered vehicle and make a complete mockery of the govt's suedo safty legislation.

very true....but ive checked everything on the legislations and I can drive an 8 and a 6 or a 4 (theres no legislation thats says restricted to only 4 cylinders)

the senator is dads but he passed away so eventually its mine, im the only one thats actually taking care of it so I put it under my thing

Well I don't want you to get too confident just yet, you are not even on your L's yet and I believe you must be on them for a minimum of 6 months or be 17 years of age before you can sit for your P's. In that time the Government could indeed pass legislation restricting the engine size for new drivers.

I know aye, its a huge relief because Ive paid over half the money of the whole ss, oh and im getting a battery for the senator in 3 days, (yeah its deffinatly the battery ) so I should have photos of it next week!

Yes I read that you have two phases. In SA, they have two phases for P plates. How long till you are17?

so your not on your l's and you brought a ss to drive once your on your p's, since whens that been allowed? unless yeah it is legal to drive 8's on your p's where your from, but i would be more worried that by the time you get your p's they change the rules, and i doubt they would change the rules in that way, it would be to inconviniant for l platers and family's to only drive 4's

yeah man it is legal to drive an 8 when your on ur ls in w.a, if it law does come in then im just gonna have to drive my sisters new barina, but let pray that it doesnt come in

In nsw you can legally drive a V8 on your p's if you have proof of ownership of it prior to the rules coming in which is like 2004 or 5 sometime round then. And to own a V8 and be just on your P's now youd only have been like 12 or 13 which is pretty young to legally own a car. Spose i got my first car when i was 10 though haha.
