Yuck, Silverline...Their pads are shit dude.
Interesting that you ask who makes the Repco rotors. Still a fairly new line of stock, and even I haven't looked into it yet...
I shall suss it out when I'm next at work for you.
Need a part number? PM me.
Luke.
im getting them for my vy,i know the manager at the repco store im getting them from,he reckons they aren't bad for standard rotors, the pads he reckons will wear out quick though... but you couldnt by rotors seperatly cheaper than that anyway.
$99 discs, pads and fluid from Repco. Most of the home brand auto parts are actually decent sometimes. Not all the time but some times..
Would it be RDA rotors, a few of the sellers on Ebay seem to sell these relatively cheaply compared to some other brands
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?
you get what you pay for. theres a reason these parts are so cheap.

i personally found rda to be the best cheap /effective rotors for wear long term
but as for pads i use genuine especially with slotted rotors as they always seem to get noisy if a poor compund brake pad
(and yes i always tried the fix it things, chamfer pads glue backing plate blah blah blah i now only use genuine REAR pads and MID RANGE price repco pads e.g. bendix)
like i said you will get alot of dif opinions on brakes this is mine...
i think repco rotors are dba????
Well if the rotors are just rebranded RDA than thats very good value. Maybe buy this deal and sell the pads and fluid on eBay, I'm sure someone will pay $10-$15 for them.
I currently have RDA slotted and QFM A1RM, and the braking is fantastic.

Yeah i was thinking they had to be either RDA or DBA rotors cause there wouldnt be to many other companys making stuff 4 aussie build cars. I know the pads and fluid are poo but 99 bucks 4 2 rotors has to be a bargin

You getting any squealing with those QFM pads??

Those rotors will be made in China, by the lowest bidder. They won't be either DBA, or RDA... The sort of quantities they'll sell, and given they're only doing the REALLY popular cars, means they will have just contacted a few Chinese suppliers (of which there's thousands, the majority of the world's brake discs are now made in China), and taken the cheapest offer...
There isn't a generic rotor brand in Australia, be it Repco, Protex, Powermax etc that isn't made in China. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, all of RDA's rotors are made there under license (but they keep good tabs on the manufacturing and quality, whereas alot of brands will just take what they're given) but just don't be fooled into thinking they'll be made in Australia by a brand name, when they simply won't be.
If anyone is genuinely interested in a cheap cheap combo package, we could do RDA rotors, QFM Super X pads, and a 500mL of fluid for most Commodores for around the $150 mark delivered. Rotors will be neither here nor there, but the QFM pads are definitely a better thing than the Silverline and the extra bucks will pay for itself in the first pad change...
