I would say write off especially because of the crease in the roof in the rear door, thats some serious movement if its bent up there from being hit in the rear, towbar may have done more harm then good absorbing the impact through the chassis rather then just bending up the back, if it got hit that is.

it depends, there is no set percentage figure. if the insurer thinks that he would not be able to sell the car at auction for at least $2050 it will be repaired ( <2050+ 7500 is <9550 therefore worth them paying out for repairs). however if they think they can get more than $2050 at auction they will write it off and pay you out then redeem some money through auctio. ( for example if they can get $4000 at auction. pay you 9550 - excess they will be less than $5550 out of pocket rather than $7500) it comes down to what they can get for the car and what they have to pay to repair or write off. i hope this helps. i tried my best to explain it. lol

well i think there is a good chance that it will be written off as the quote just came to $9000 because they had to use a brand new tailgate as they cant sourse a used one.
