Default What are peoples opinions on nolathane radius rod/control arm bushes?

I took the VY in to tyrepower today for it's first ever wheel alignment as it has never pulled to one side and the tyres were wearing evenly. I've noticed that the front pass side tyre has started to wear on the inside recently. So when I got there the bloke asked how many k's on the clock, etc and when I said 135,000 odd, he said he'd bet his balls it would be worn aforesaid bushes. They had nolathane ones there, but I've heard these can crack/split fairly easily. I went next door to another place and they sold me a set of the blue polyurethane ones. So, what's your experiences and opinions on nolathane vs polyurethane?
BTW, I got tyrepower to fit the ones I bought and perform a wheel alignment. Experiences/opinions appreciated, cheers.

I could be wrong. But I'm fairly sure Nolathane is just the brand of Poly Urethane bushes.

Ive got nolothane brand bushes all through my VS and I would never use rubber bushes again.I was told some crap about the ride will be too harsh etc,but the ride is excellent. The ride and harshness is more to do with the springs than the bushes. If you use any urethane type bushes (superpro, nolothane etc) with heaps low springs,of course it will be a harsher ride.Mostly due to the springs.Every time Ive heard someone say this, they have heaps low springs fitted as well.Ive got FE2 springs fitted with mine and it sits low and firm compared to the standard springs I had in it before, and now it handles really well considering the money I spent on the new springs and bushes etc.Brand new FE2 springs were something like $29 each from a holden dealer for a VS.Heaps cheap. The nolothane bushes arent quite as cheap though, but well worth it in my opinion.

nolothane is just the brand of bush they are still made out of a polyurethane. superpro is just another brand. and these bushes should not split easily, especially in comparison to standard rubber ones
Growing old is inevitable, Growing up is optional.

I had the Superpro bushes put in my VX SS radius rods and the ride is fine, first impression was how positive it felt on the road, I have got use to it now though so just feels normal.
From memory the Superpro bushes had a few slots/grooves cast in them to give a bit of a cushioning effect. My VX SS has the standard FE2 and rides very nice.

Usually the reason the polyurethane bushes split is incorrect installation. If the surfaces that the bush contacts aren't clean and they aren't greases up, the bush will bind up and either break the metal component or split the bush.

Polyurethane acts more like a bearing than a bush, they are designed to pivot and not twist like rubber.

SuperPro bushes have the grooves to allow for proper grease penetration and lubrication.

I put a set of the red Nolathane bushes and they are very good . As stated above better braking and positive steering, I didn't notice it to be any harsher ride .
