my brother has driven most of those cars (all bar 350Z and S2000) and has owned 2 of them GTi-R and VL 6. this is his order.
1. GTi-R
2. VX
3. WRX
4. 350Z
5. 200SX
6. S2000
7. VL 6
8. VS
9. VL V8
10. Swift
has beaten VS's VL V8 and swifts in the VL but only 5 speed manuals
a stock VL 6 cannot physically beat a stock VS V6
or am i wrong or what??
the power to weight ratio is not there.... have seen both cars down the drags i own a VS etc

stock vs stock the vs should win. Theres something about the ratio in the auto too.
And also, stock vs stock - the n/a 6 vl should beat the v8 vl, pretty sure it had the faster 1/4 time.
vl6 beating a vl8,
maybe the VLT but not the stock 6
where is the VP in the list???
anyway, here are some numbers to play around with
GTi-R
accelleration 0-100kmph - 5.9 seconds
accelleration 0-400m - 13.9 seconds
max power output - 227hp @ 6400rpm (or 171.5 kw)
max torque - approx. 290 nm
VX SS
accelleration 0-100kmph - 6.50 seconds.
accelleration 0-400m - 14.34 seconds.
5.7 V8 - 225kW @ 5200rpm
460Nm @ 4400rpm
WRX
160kw
350Z
214 kW @ 6,200 rpm
371 Nm @ 4,800 rpm
200SX
Maximum power 147kw @ 6400
Maximum torque 265nm @ 4800
VL6
Power Output 114kW @ 5200rpm
Torque 247Nm @ 3600rpm
the VLT had 150kw
VS SS
Elapse time 0-100 km/h: 7.34 seconds
Standing 400 metres: 15.27 seconds
168kW @ 4400rpm
385Nm @ 3600rpm
VL8 (non hsv specs)
Power Output 122kW @ 4400rpm
Torque 323Nm @ 3200rpm
suzuki Swift
59 kW @ 6,000 rpm
102 Nm @ 3,000 rpm
keep in mind it is a 1.3L 4cyl
now all that took me a good 10 minutes to come up with.
and geez the swift would go like a dog at low revs if its 59kw at 6,000 imagine what its like at low end 1-2,000 15-20kw??? hahaha
See what I mean about the V8 vl and the 6. Combine that with 3.08 gears vs 3.45's.. And its basically all gearing. The 6 should be slightly lighter so it'd cancel out the power increase in my books.
all these cars can be modded to be as fast as each other, if ur guna buy a 350 for like $65000.00 , why not buy a VT or VX and fully mod it to the max with twin blowers and shit and u will still have money left over to buy other things in life. Buggar that rice crap off......
Umm i used to own the 993cc 3pot which at factory spec was 43kw i think yet mine was ex pizza delivery and had over 200k on the clock when they say to only expect 200k max, it would have been even worse if it had aircon and auto to drain what little power it had, and they were made!!! the bloke i bought it off of specialises in them and one that came in that really worried him was a 3pot with aircon, but was manual fortunately but also had a big ass towbar on it!!!Originally Posted by Stewart1000
yeah they are pretty gutless but also remember they weigh about 800kg
but the gti engine goes pretty hard though im told with fuel injection over the 2 barrel carby, DOHC over the SOCH but they handle so well with IRS and good weight distribution

has anyone mentioned the weight of a swift? an old done up one would weigh in at well under 800 kegs... If it had some work, it'd go... i would never drive one but, no safety factor at all!!! not compared to the VN at least!!!
swift = maneouvrable and highly fuel efficient.
as far as safety goes, nothing can replace a good driver.
guys im a mechanic n i have drivin both the 350z and the s2000 n trust me the s2000 might b a little slugish down low but between 6 n 9 grand she can be a handfull. not a chance in town the vl v8 would come close to either of these cars so here is my order...
. GTi-R
2. WRX
3. s2000
4. 350z
5. VX
6. VL V8
7. VS
8. 200SX - non turbo i presume
9. VL
10. Swift

the 2 litre s2000 red lines at 9000rpm!! (for a non-rotary its cool) and has the highest kW to L ratio of any Naturally Aspirated car and its awesome!!! though they took a step backward with the 2.2L version cos it has a much lower redline,
how could you not know what an s2000 is garth

Of course with the Turbo cars times can vary greatly depending on time, date and weather when tested. I have seen variances of up to 0.5 quicker in vehicles tested when the moisture content in the air is high.
Does anyone recall the RS Liberty, claiming 6.9 0 - 100Km/h, racing an SS also claiming 6.9. On a hot day the SS ran 7.2 average and the Liberty 7.3.
Case closed SS wins. The magazine retested the same Liberty about two weeks later, in misty conditions, early morning and it averaged 6.86 seconds.
But thank God the SS won on the day.
