broken key...

as the title suggests, i broke a key in the drivers side door lock (the battery was dead flat and i had to manually open the door) any way the broken stalk of the key is stuck right in the lock, does anyone know how i could get it out?
any helps appreciated

I don't know how, you may have to try a locksmith

Im not sure but can you take the door trim off and then push/force it out from the inside? I know that when I broke a key to a house door I took the door handle apart and pushed it through,but I had to use a brad nail to force it out.The other option would be as aussie7 has said or get new door locks.
