hey guys, ummm might be a stupid question but i really dont know:S I have a vs commodore dropped all round on superlow kingsprings and i was just wondering if i could just buy a pair of ultra lows and put them in the back shocks too dump the back of the car. i heard there is a 5cm drop difference between superlows and ultralows. i have also heard that there is a risk that the spring can come out of the shocks while your driving, but can be held into the shock by cableties... is this true?
anyway my question is can i put a pair of ultralows in my back shocks to drop the back of the car? or will i need new shocks, wheel inlinement, etc???
thanks![]()
Do you still have stock shocks?
rear springs dont go inside/around the shocks...
nahh i had to replace my rear shocks i got a pair from repco...
The cable tie method doesn't sound very safe at all. The load on springs is huge so I doubt a cable tie would be able to contain it if it were to fly out.
A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
ok ok... so if i jack my car up, take the wheel off and take the super lows out and chuck in the ultra lows in, the car will drop??? i wont need new shocks or anything??
do you mean 5cm or 5 mm, you wouldnt have 5 cm of travel left if you have superlows, you would be looking at aprox 5-15mm drop from super to ultra lows.
as above, your looking at half an inch drop, 5cm is huge.
you wont "need" new shocks - i have SSL's with stock shocks - but they are definately recommended, and a camber kit is pretty much a neccesary investment.
