Insurance costs

I've started planning the move from my VT S to a VX SS and decided to check out the comp insurance costs with my current insurance company AAMI and I am looking at approx. $2000 per annum.

I am 22 years old and have a rating 2. The cost of this insurance estimate is crazy, is there anyone else that would offer a much better policy?

What are your experiences with insurance, being relatively young and having an LSx?

Also what is your take on adjusting the flexi-premium where your excess changes relative to what premium you select?
I tried putting my dads name as the primary driver and I as an additional driver and it works out about $550 less.

Thats because your changing from a V6 to a V8,Im with aami and I have have found that they are the cheapest for my car insurance by about $200.But the problem with all companies is that every year the premium goes up and the value of your car goes down.$2000 per annum is not bad thats what it cost me many years ago to insure my V8,and your right its also your age that comes into count.

Mate, try swann insurance. I am 22 with a vy ls1, my insurance is $155 a month thats in my name, but the excess is only $200. Just google them. Had a mate make a claim with them recently and from what he said you can choose your repairer.

That actually sounds good. The quote I looked at was about $200/month with $550 excess. It still could be a few months away before I can get the SS but I thought I'd start my homework now.
