ok i know that personalised plates and whatever are expensive, i get thats how they make money.
went to order some replacement plates for my car today (as i have damaged one), just have standard issue plates, thought i might get black instead of blue numbers to be different, went to pay for them... $185!!.
i thought holy #### thats so expensive for pretty much normal plates. went to just order replacement standard issue plates, those are now $116.80!!. i upgraded to slimline plates almost a year ago now and i swear i only paid about 40$ for front and back slimline, now they have gone up almost tripple???
my question is why? are people expected to pay this much if they have an accident? and how has it gone up so much so quick?
looks like im driving around with half a plate for a while.

In QLD you pay a one-off for personalised plates.
Rego is as per normal, either 6 or 12 monthly.
standard plate don't cost much $16 or something like that a car
i do have custom plates on my bike i got lucky with that, that no one else ordered them and i would not sell them for anything under 50K to a target group and then only maybe
Hes not talking about personalised plates. L2Read.

Current Fees: Number plate fees : VicRoads
Money probably goes into all the projects they waste money on (and not just roads and land for the road).
If you dont like the fees, get off the road and catch public transport, be a freeloader and ride a bicycle or walk.
