none really that'll benefit you >_> Except really remove the plastic cover off the engine, probably make it rune 1 degree colder? a cheap mod would be getting a resistor and sticking it in the air flow sensor, thats all the air flow sensors are is resistors, if u get the right OHM resistor u can make ur car think its running a bit colder yet increase performance(Not much) But a little bit..

    cut ur exhaust off??
lol joking >_> dont do that....

buy a memcal off ebay? when u say cheap >_> what do u mean by....cheap? like $2 cheap or $100 max cheap

    painting brakes
    Painting your dash
Thorough clean in and out (cut and polish, steam cleaning)

Simple stuff like that can make your car look a bit nicer and you'll have fun doing it. I did at least. I was 15 however

Don't go putting a resistor on your Air Flow Meter - All that does is make your car use more fuel and confuse the #### out of your car.

welll for $200 max you can get an $80 k&n filter, i got one for 110 but its alot bigger then the 80 dollar ones, saved me about 25% fuel i worked out and got rid of all those flat spots at low revs and definitly gives you a bit more kick. no sure on the exact power increase but.

There is a discussion I started here which you might want to look at before spending so much money on an air filter. And you'd be extremely unlucky to get a defect for an air filter, unless its a pod. Cop's don't like pod filters from what I've heard.

LOL at the 25% fuel saving with the K&N filter, if you really got some fuel saving than I would dare say that your old filter was well and truly shagged and that any new filter would have benefited.

    >_> Buy a cheap memcal of ebay, it take like 5 minutes to put in >_> ? and probably (if ur engine isnt that saggy) then maybe 10-15 kw difference? and as for the resistor, thats just optional >_> i put a resistor and i could feel the noticeable difference in power, but yes it does make u use more fuel, not to much tho >_> i was running about 9.8 litres per 100 kms, went up to 10.1 litres per 100 kms , if u wanted to do something stupid if ur on ur p's or what not u could always buy a little blower fan from supercheap or something and install it in ur air intake line to ur throttle body >_> not as good as a turbo, its the hobo's way of doing it, but u just asked for cheap mods >_> just running some by you

That blower fan idea is outrageous. It would not help performance one bit, i'd even say it would be worse than stock.

To the O.P just save up some more money until you can do some power mods that will net you some good gains.
However in the mean time, giving your car a good clean/detail is always fun, boosts its aesthetics too. maybe even colour code some interior plastics.

Well, if your already saving for wheels, other aesthetic mods would be.
    - Lowered springs - GSLrallysport does kits that come complete with shocks (kits are $675 pretty well priced IMO)
    - Tint - $300
    - Monaro tail/headlihgts - tail lights are about $100-200 headlights $200-300 depending where you get them.
    - Calais chrome door handles - $50-150
    - Calais chrome outer door handle - $40 - 80
    - SS silver door vents - $40-60

I found all of that at a click of the button. It can all be delivered to your door with ease. Happy shopping.
