Default wagon rear bar on ute

hey all, was just washing my car and and idea popped into my head. i have a vs ute and instead of the corner little bumper bits at the rear sticking out then having a big inlet bit where the numberplate sits, does anyone know if a wagon rear bar would fit? or would it be wayyyy to much f#####g around? also anyone ever done it or heard it being done?

reallllly keen to see what it looks like

Its quite possible, depends how steady your hand is with a grinder/jigsaw.

The problem you have is they are different shapes. These pics show where the panel is metal, and where its plastic. Havn't actually seen it done before, but i dont think it'd be that hard...

my god that is helpful dude haha thanks heaps. do you have any idea as to wether it would just bolt straight on in place of the pice of the panel that gets cut off? so keen to give it a crack, might find a cheap shitty side panel and see before i do the real thing. i guess trial and error is half the fun though!

Never seen the mounting points for a ute, so couldn't say for sure. You can get a bumper for liike $10 at a wrecker...

If you do it right i think it could look good. The mounting points for those bumperettes on the ute is one bolt behind the reflector and one underneath. So i would assume there would be one behind the reflector on the wagon aswell. There would be the problem of mounting the number plate aswell

There isn't a mount behind the reflectors on wagons...

Only the mounts on the rear of the bar, and the flappy things that slide on the sides (but he wouldn't be using these as that part of the bar would be cut off)

just went and tried to take the bumperette off and theres a bolt underneath the car which is a bitch to get to, need a socket that i didnt have at home. might have to wait til i have my tools at home. numberplate sholdnt be a real big issue, nothing a grinder, some fibre glass stuff and bog cant fix! might go buy a bnumper tomorrow, give it a crack and let yall know how i went!
