Hey guys...
Ever since i bought my car in July 2010 there has been a squeal when i brake... It only squeals when i brake moderately.. its not there when i brake lightly or hard. Ive pinpointed which wheel it is and it seems to be the front right wheel...
What could be causing this squealing?
Is there any quick fix?
Or is it time for new pads or something??
My brakes work perfectly fine so im a bit confused.... Also about a month ago i put some new wheels on and the squealing dissapeared for a while... but then it came back! Really annoying haha
Are the rotors smooth or do they have grooves on them, they might need to be machined, some cheaper brake pads also cause the squealling sound, also brake dust, spray some brake dust remover onto the rotors. How much is left on the pads they might be worn out.Check all these things.
it could be just a build up of brake dust. if not im sure someone else on here can point you the right way.
There could be a few things mate
- rotors/pads not bedded in properly when installed (oil left on the rotors)
- not sure if the commo had these clips that hold the pads, on some cars they rub and squeal
- cheap Ebay pads, I had them and no matter what they squealed loudly
Yes the commodores have the clips that hold the pads in
Hmm okay thanks guys ill have to check these things out in the day
