    Default Adelaide to Shepparton

    Hi All,

I pick up my VE SSV tomorrow and next week doing a drive from Adelaide to Shepparton to see some friends.

Can you give me some advice on the things to check on the car before the trip and if I need to get something to help against flying bugs!

    Thanks!

VE, surely you'd be right. Check there's coolant and oil in it, make sure you're stocked up on snacks and drinks. If there really is massive amounts of bugs (it would need to be a lot) then you could get some flyscreen and put it over the front of your radiator.

Might be worth investing in an RAA membership just incase....

With regards to the bugs, either fly screen or shade cloth will do the trick. Stay well back from trucks as they flick up stones from the side of the road and leave nasty chips.

Take rest stops too if you are tired.

    Have a safe drive.

Cheers! Yeah just done the RAA thing!

Being from London I'm a bit more unfamiliar with your roads - what are cops like with speed guns? Are they in the middle of know where?

(not that I will be testing the 6ltr )

Yes. Not so much in the early hours of the morning though There's fixed speed cameras on a lot of bridges on major highways keep an eye out for them.

Vic Cops have radar guns that can reach over a km away so watch out, maybe look at investing in a front bra
