Hi Guys and Girls,
I have just purchased an SV6 VE Series 2 Ute.
I have come from an VY SS Series 2 Ute.
I find the new VE a bit weird to drive...
The clutch is so light and yet seems to have so much "spring" to it. I have trouble getting a smooth takeoff... Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just that I cant drive properly?
The gears also seem to give me greef... I find it tricky to make a fast cange if I am to put the foot down a bit. Would a rip shift help this?
In saying all this, My Mrs loves it.
I just cant seem to find a comfortable driving position.
I kind of miss my old VY...
yeah iv got a 09 ssv and i find that same problem clutch is way to soft and spring lil bit a bunny hop trying to find the right release point
maybe your just not used to a brand new car?
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
VE clutch pedals are spring assisted...to lighten the pedal load
Smitty...with the VE SSv SII Sportswagon, VK race car and...Kwaka ZX12R
Id say its a thing you get used to, My Kingswoods clutch is so strong, its like a workout trying to use it... and when I was driving my dads KIA the clutch was so light.. I didnt like it.. I used to stall it all the time.. but I got used to it..
I used to have an Omega VE manual ute and found that the gearbox was very rubbery, clutch was fine but 1st to second was very awkward...and the V6 has a different box to the V8.
Mine seems ok. Different box & motor though.
