Try connecting the negative and positive terminals of the pump direct to the battery

have you refiited it to a car??? just cause it spins and makes some noise doesnt mean it will work in a car, injectors need pressure, and if the pump cant keep up you wont get it to run.

if you have refitted it and it works.. all good

mate, it needs to go into a bucket of petrol and tested. also, once they have been used they need to be stored in petrol at all times, cos the seals inside dry out. then the pump will spin up no problem, but it wont pump dick all.

Gotta test the flow rate and pressure rates to get an idea of fuel pump condition. The pump will overheat if its operated out of fuel,It has to be submersed in a bucket of fuel as mentioned above, the fuel cools the pump when its immersed in it.This is why these fuel pumps can crap themselves when these cars run out of fuel, some people, once theyve run out of fuel, wind over the engine trying to start the car again and all the while the ignition key is on,the fuel pump is running whilst dry,the pump usually craps itself if this is done for too long .Ive seen a couple of these pumps die this way when dopey drivers have kept trying to restart the car once its run out of fuel..
