Lightbulb Looking to buy my first commodore

    Gday,
I have been driving around my landcruiser FJ61 for over 10 years now. It's getting a bit long in the tooth so i am thinking of buying a commodore since i am a big boy i need room in a car to fit me. I am fresh in the Gold Coast but dont know 2 much about comma's since i have never owned one. i think ill have about 7500 to spend. what can i get? i would prefer V8 but v6 should be ok! sedan or ute would be the go for me!! any suggestions?? sorry for being such a noob!

any general info would be great!

I'd be looking at a nice VY sedan with low klm's (80,000-120,000, approx) for that price. But I am biased towards VY! You may get a VZ with low k's for that price, too. Make sure it has a service history and take it for a real good test drive. VT's are going for $2,000-$4,000 nowadays, so you should be looking at 02-03 models onwards. Personally, I wouldn't buy from a caryard, warranties from them are usually crap, but that's up to you. Try having a read around different sections on this forum and you'll get an idea of the go with any known common issues, etc.
For peace of mind if you do find a car you like, get it checked over by a mechanic before you buy it, costs little at $50-$100.
So many people buy the first car they see and end up with a lemon.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'

get a vs ute and join the rest of us =P and a v8 one at that isnt hard to find.
best thing about a commodore though is that there have been so many of them that you can find spare parts easily.
