    Hey fellas,
As the title states, I'm looking for a good Diff joint in melbourne.
My LSD is whirring and on the way out and I need your advice on a place that will do a good job at a good price.
    Any feedback greatly appreciated fellas.

I got a diff from diffs2u about 6 months ago or so.
There fairly new however seem to be growing fairly quickly.

Not many people have heard of them as there new, however I had purchased a full reco LSD with 4.11 gears for $850 bucks and im very very happy with there work.
Also a very friendly bunch of people if that hasnt changed lol

+1 that. I got them to rebuild the 9" LSD in my HZ and put a new set of 3.7 gears on. Didn't get to use it for a year or so, by the time I put the car back together. When I did she was noisy on acceleration and quite on decel! They wouldn't do S**t about it. Also they tried to keep my old,but near new 3.00:1 gears! Cheeky pricks...... I wouldn't go back again.

exactly the same issue here. diff was not set up properly, and the tailshaft they made was out of balance, the yoke from the gearbox they had used was bent. sent the tailshaft back again, got it supposedly fixed but it still wasnt right.

sent it back again and its still not right!

and yes, they will take things from your old diff, took the shims out of the diff we sent down and put others in there. dodgy operators.

Ok, i guess G&J is a definite no no. They were actually the only place I had called before posting this and they quoted me $900 to reco my current LSD.
I'm not taking any chances with a shifty joint though, I'm only a student and can't afford to get ripped off for something this bloody expensive.
iaydemir, where is diffs2u situated mate? do they install too?
Any help appreciated fellas, thanks so far.

I brought a dodgy reco LSD for 850 off ebay. I say dodgy since the bearings lasted 500kms since they were overtightened.
I had all the bearings replaced at a joint called Protrac in cranbourne (melbourne s.e) and found them fantastic to deal with and they did really good work

Booked in for Tuesday at a place one of my co-workers used for his VS Ute.
Joints called total traction drivelines and it's situated in Moorabbin.
So far the bloke has been very very good to deal with in terms of booking it in asap and talking about prices and stuff.
I'll let you know how the actual diff holds up and the quality of the build when I get the car back.

Got the ute back this morning.
So far so good, the noise is completely gone and I can finally hear my exhaust without a pitching whirring sound accompanied with it.
The backlash has been removed and the thing really hooks up and now and takes off a lot nicer.
This said, i've only done like 30 kms with it reconditioned so we will see how it goes.
I don't plan on flogging the car so i should get a long life out of it.

Ended up costing $845 dollars mate, this included new wheel bearings too.
It seemed a decent price considering most other joints were wanting $900 over. I was considering buying a used LSD for $600 or so but then I wasn't too keen on not knowing the history of a diff which could potentially be on the way out also which would put me back at square one. For the extra few hundred dollars the peace of mind is very worth it.
I also work with a bloke who got his diff repaired at the same place a few years ago and his ute is still going strong today and he gives that ute a hiding.
