    No.

Specialised car washing liquid is normally the best bet. For example, Meguiars or Mother.

You can purchase these at most auto shops - Supercheap Auto is decent.

I agree - I wouldn't put dishwashing liquid anywhere near my car's paintwork. No bloody way.

Dishwashing liquid will probably stain the paint. A couple of decades ago my Dad put some in his Kingswood's windscreen washer bottle, and it stained where it washed onto the paint. I'd try the Meguiar's Soft Wash car wash

I don't think Soft Wash (pink) is in production anymore, like Gold Class (yellow)? I personally use Meguiars Xtra/Xtreme (purple) or something-a-rather. I think it's pretty much all the same just different colours, smells and labels each year.

Oh ok, I saw them both a month or two back, could have been leftover stock or something I guess. Yeah I use the NXT Generation Car Wash too.

If you can afford $800 for paint protection you can afford to buy real car cleaning stuff

I get my cars hand washed, I unfortunately don't have access to a hose where I am. Plus I'm lazy

I've had people say babies shampoo is good for washing your car as the PH is pretty much neutral. Does anyone know if this is BS or not?

Also, I did have fabric protection in my last car and dropped a bottle of coke on the passengers seat, it beaded straight off, no mark/stain at all. Do you guys reckon the fabric/leather protection is a gimmick too or worth it?

Babies shampoo could work, but still, good quality car wash (like Meguiar's NXT Gen stuff, for example) is pH balanced anyway, and will probably work a lot better. Plus you can be sure it wont have any negative side effects, where as I'm not 100% certain about baby shampoo, though I'd assume its pretty safe, doubt it cleans that well though.

As for the seat stuff, do you really need it? If so, have a look for aftermarket products that are similar to compare the price. If it's pretty close and you need/want it then you might as well get the genuine stuff I guess.

I've used johnsons baby shampoo on my car but dont think it works as good normal quality car wash, I just use it on the rims now as I have a big bottle. Shouldn't hurt your paint because it's rather mild remember it's suppose to not cause tears when you get it in kids eyes so it should cause any tears using it on your paint.
