Default Could really use some help here please.

    Hi there guys,

I'm living in Saudi Arabia, got a Holden Commodore VZ. The kind locals here took care to leave plenty of scratches all over my beauty. Posted are links to a few pictures of the various scratches... quite deep ones.

No detailers in my whereabouts, or any sort of car-care workshops. If there's anything that can be done to remove the scratches I'll have to do it myself. Will need instructions on how to do that.

I'd really appreciate the time you put in to help me with this, these scratches are a real eye-sore.

Hey Mate. Sorry to see such damage !

Most of the Scratches look like they are down to bare metal. They would require to be filled with car bog and sanded back, Primed, then resprayed. Something that requires lots of time and work.
The Side Door Plastic strips would need to be replaced. Im Not real sure on how to repair (bog & Re-spray) but i know thats thats whats involved.
If you youtube im sure there would be heaps of videos showing you the basics.

    Cheers

Hi there mate, thanks for your consideration. I'll admit the scratches aren't that big (except for this Twitpic - Share photos and videos on Twitter ).

I'm trying this method on one of them:
    1. Touch-up paint, fill in scratch with 2 - 3 coats till above paint layer.
    2. Sand down with 600 grit wet sand paper till layer is even.
    3. Rub on some rubbing compound to remove effects of sanding.
    4. Polish to smoothen out the now filled-in scratch.

Done 1, steps 2 - 4 tomorrow afternoon after paint dries.

Hoping for the best! Better than nothing. Very much against respraying the scratched door panel at the dealer... too costly and will be quite obviously different compared to the original paint of car. Also bear in mind the fact that the kind locals will most probably key her again.

Will let you know how it goes.
    Cheers mate.

um the scratches are really deap but if there are some that are just surface scratches some cut and polish should get some of them off, just use a small amount of polish, poilish then a lot of elbow grease and make sure you get all the cut and polish off, becuase i can damage your paint

    Hi mates,

Tried the steps I listed... small improvement but not much. Most of these scratches seem to be down to the bare metal. My main focus is to remove this one Twitpic - Share photos and videos on Twitter Its the worst of them all, though it doesn't seem to be that deep. My finger nail gets caught in them, but the layer behind these scratches is white... how far has it gone through? Any suggestions?
