Hey all, Im thinking of going the v8 route. But not sure what would be best.
Currently have manual v6 vn, and WANT an older commodore (vb-vk). I want to keep the vn as a daily so thinking I might be better to leave that as is and get a early girl shell and put a 304 in that. But it is also tempting to put a 304 in the vn and put my current engine and box in an older shell.
What would you guys do? Does the 304 from a vn-vs bolt up alright into say a vc? Or would the buick be an easier/better conversion?
Cost of petrol atm pushes me more towards v8 in earlier commodore so its not a daily. But I don't know! Id v8 both if i could afford to but would rather keep the vn cheap and hassle free to run
Any input appreciated!
do you specifically want a V8? you could straight swap the v6 into an earlier shell and drop an RB30/2JZ into the VN. both swaps will return big smiles.
Yeah I do want a v8, always been a fan. If I went down the rb etc path I would wanna do that in an older lighter car than the vn. But money doesnt really permit me to go to different anyway :-(
There isn't much weight difference between a VN and a VC. Personally I'd go for a VH SL/E![]()
