Just want to know if getting your service done at a place other than holden will void your warranty?? as i have seen other place's state it wont but i am a bit hesitant to take it else were. any advice
Ring your holden dealer and find out mate. best way to be sure.
you can take your car anywhere when its in warranty, aslong as it has genuine parts and lubricants (except engine oil) fitted it is still covered,
so example, take it to say "repco" and they put a repco filter on and your engine does a bottom end bearing, holden will not cover the repairs under warranty because that filter is not something they ahve specified to use on that motor.
so genuine parts only, because if the warranty clerk sees aftermarket parts/filters, and that part being protected by it is damaged, your claim will be knocked back on the spot
Yeah but i dont trust them as they could say no so you have to get them to do it and or say its fine then it turns around to bit me on the a$$
well it does actually tell you your terms and conditions for servicing, which you recieved at the point of delivery/sale.
but from experience, genuine parts = warranty, no matter which workshop they are fitted at
To the OP. Are you talking about a new car warranty, or one of those warranties you get when you buy a used car?
New car warranties are not invalidated by servicing at a non-dealer business, such as Ultratune or private licensed mechanic.
Used car warranties require the service to be carried out at the selling business or their nominated service centre.
