NO ! leave it stock !
Yes ! But leave the Lion alone !
Yes ! Get rid of all the badges !
My VS series 2 has the v6 echotech badges on the side of the car above the side indicators, every other vs has them below the side indicators. It doesnt bother me coz it still looks ok and i didn't even notice until a few weeks after i bought it. It doesn't look like they have ever been moved and its the same on both sides of the car. Im just wondering if anyone knows why this would be the case and if its happened before. Was it done at the factory or do you reckon somebody else has moved them??
All l can say is that my vs II has them below. It seems strange for them to be above. Is it body kitted? Some people de-badge cars or change their badges after adding a kit.

is there any chance of geting a photo of the two panels in question
three thing in life are guaranteed
taxes
death
and car repairs
lol sounds like that dyslexic panel beater got a new job
Factory fitted badges for the VS V6 Ecotec logo is UNDER the indicators. I think the previous owner wanted to be different!
I'd say your car was invloved in an accident or just resprayed for whatever reason. The panelbeater then replaced the badges in the wrong position.
It is a good example of what to look for when buying a used car people

That's quality... well now you don't have a run of the mill Commodore....
that picture just dont look normal
something is very wrong
i would agree with OSL060
i've never seen any commodore with the badges on top
1994 VR Commodore - 5Spd Manual, Lowered, CAI, 2 1/2 Cat Back and a few visual mods.
ill make it a point to check out every commodore that i see now and check where the badges are.
Hey guys, I have never debadged or rebadged a car before, so Im wondering if you have any tips for taking old ones off and sticking the new ones on.
Thanks

Depends which car..... newer cars are just double sided tape to keep em on and getting old opens off might have glue.
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
Yeah Im talking about the new style VS+ badges with the double sided tape and the locator pins.

well if ya gonna debage it then put on newer one then it will cover the locating pins and should look fine, if you heat the badge up it will come off easier
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
Use a hair dryer mate, the best way to do it. Heat it up and they pretty much come off. Then use a polish to clean the area, not a wax and then leave sit for a week. Wash and wipe with water heaps during that time and ya ready to go... I did this with mine as the amount of shit that builds up in between the gaps on those holden badges made it look like shit...Originally Posted by Salem
Is That the same with VL Badges? Double sided tape? Or is it glue? With glue do you still heat them up to get it off?
on a VS does the bonnet badge, ECOTEC badge and (for a ute) the commodore and series III badges have the pins on them?
I have the bonnet and boot lion badges here, they have two offset pins on each. Not sure about the Commodore badges, and I have seen some very dodgy 'Series...' badges, so I dont think they have pins.

the only ones that have pins are the lion emblem's.....the ecotec v6 and commodore and series 2 etc dont have them...nor does the HOLDEN though why you would want to take off the Lion's is beyond me

cleaner lines on the car... although the paint on my bonnet is just about shagged... so it doesnt really matter. im thinkin of debadging my ute... but i still want people to know that it is an S pack and not just a shitty base model lolOriginally Posted by Gobbles
I have a VN Badge lying around. It's got some sort of brown shit on the back... probably glue. I know why he wants to take the lion off: Because he wants to cheapen the whole image of the car.
You know this definately do you...? I'd like to see you say this to someone's face one day...at a car show or something...and then see how many limbs you've got left.Originally Posted by Commodore
Like VSUTE said, it gives the car cleaner lines.
And how is it that you have a badge lying around? Did you badge a car...Part of your collection of Merc, BMW. and Ford badges...

I debadged my VL boot a while ago. Dont try this at home (although it worked fine) I carefully used a very sharp plane blade to slide it off and cleaned up afterwards with a small amount of eucalyptus oil for the sticky stuff. Makes the car look smoother, not cheaper. Also keeps people guessing whats under the bonnet.
No, I didnt debadge it. I took off the old ones and put new ones on. It looks great now.
The bonnet didnt have locator holes though, the boot did, i had to cut off the pins from the front badge.
And the VS looked ugly from the front without a badge too.
