    Default extractors and exhaust

alot of people say different things about what extractors and exhaust system is the best.. apparently stainless steel exhaust is better but expensive so wats the best mild steel? and most people say pacemaker extractors are the best but why no stainless steel?
i guess its your own opinion and wat you want from it, either sound or peformance
what does everyone think is the best?

Stainless will last forever, mild won't.
Mild will sound a little better than stainless.
There are pros and cons for both, same with headers. If you're sitting on the fence just read through the dozens of threads on here on the subject for advice. Most of the combos and brands have been used so there's some good info for you to read.
Personally, i like the pacies 4 in 1 with 1 3/4 primaries, just a good all round header.

stainless is also louder than mild steel... i actaully saw a skyline that had a part titanium part mild steel exhaust just to get the sound right
and it sounded pretty nice too when those turbo's spooled up lol

It mostly comes down to how much you want to spend.

What engine do you have? You have a charged VY, V6 or V8?

I would hazard a guess and say V6.

It doesn't really matter whether you go mild or stainless in regards to performance, your budget will determine that.

You don't always get what you think either, I had a HM Stainless system on my VX SS, after a few years the fibreglass filling started coming out of the rear muffler,
then to my surprise a section of perforated tube dislodged, and it appears to be a rusty piece of mild steel tubing, the casing is still in perfect condition but there is nothing left inside the rear muffler.

i do have a vy charged 6 and i most likely could pay for stainless steel so i was going to choose mild steel probs dual 2.5 because its alot cheaper, but unsure of what brand and what extractors

and as i thort everyone has different opioions but there is alot of useful information here

I have supplied a couple of systems for the L67s, extractors, cats and twin 2 1/2". $1690 shipped. All mild steel, apart from the metal high flow cats. It gives a good increase right from bottom end, and sounds pretty good too.

Or you can just go a twin 2 1/4" into single 3" cat back for $495 shipped. Yours being charged, it would have twin cats?

Pretty much the same as that except it will be a 3" single pipe out behind the mufflers and through the resonator.
