I can't decide on a colour. It's one I'll be stuck with for about the next five years so I want to get it right.
Holden Commodore - SV6 - Exterior - Holden.com.au
Definately out:
Heron (white) - had it before and it shows every little nick, scratch and smudge
Hazard (yellow) & Voodoo (blue) - they're just a bit bright (and a bit gay for me)
Karma (blue) - too much like what I've got now
Red hot (red) - I've looked at photos of actual new cars with this colour and it's just way too red
Possibles:
Phantom (black) - This was my first instinctive pick. There's something about black that just says it's sharp and sophisticated. But after looking at some actual car photos with this colour, I think that it might easily show up every little spec of dust and dirt.
Alto (grey) - Not bad, but maybe a bit boring.
Sizzle (red) - Better than Red Hot, a bit deeper, but still not sure if it's too bright and out there
Nitrate - gotta admit pretty good but is it too common?
Please vote!
phantom for sure mate!! ve's look sexy in black![]()
depends on how you look at it and what style for some strange reason i have always going for th ewhite VE's when set on a good set of rims and lowered
if its the sv6 thunder ute, that voodoo blue does look really nice. (stands out from the wheels)
if its the sedan/wagon id go with phantom, but remember black is a pain to keep clean. but your right, it does look the best.
good luck with it all though
Ok - I had a black SS-V and thought it looked great. When I got the E3 black was also my first choice but then I found this Alto one in stock which was a 2nd choice. Since then it has grown on me to the point of rating it ahead of black.
The 2 reasons are ease of keeping it clean. The black could very easily look dirty not 1 hour of driving after washing & waxing it which was very frustrating. Also, although it's still a dark(ish) color, the Alto is much much cooler when parking the car. The black one on even a cloudy day could heat up to unbearable heat within a minute of turning the a/c off when parked. On a hot day it's almost instant. The Alto is far far better.
I also like the red colors. I'd recommend you visit a dealer and see the cars in person before you choose the color. For some reason they can look very different than in pics.
Reaper
You didn't comment on Poison Ivy. How does that sit with you?
i had a black vx ss, looks good when you wash it- until you leave your driveway, i'll never own another black car but each to their own
im out of my mind at the moment...please leave a message
The end decision was Nitrate Silver. The others are just too hard to look after.
Good choice as far as maintenance goes. Silver always looks good.
My black one looks stunning when it's clean/polished but it's a PITA to keep looking that way.
I think I read that silver has a better resale value too...
