Default How to disconnect exhaust slip flange?

Sorry about the title, not sure what to call it. I have an exhaust for my skyline which is live axle, the exhaust goes over the diff. There is a 'slip flange' on the exhaust so you can take the rear muffler off, put it over the diff and then re connect it. I can't seem to get the exhaust to come apart though, pictures are below. I have tried heating it but I only have a small butane torch. Would a big oxy torch get it apart? Or how should i do it?
    Cheers.

Tried that, didn't want to wreck it. I can only think of heating it up / pulling / hitting .. Does anyone have a trick ?

    yeah hit it. LOL.

so i assume it used to have a U bolt on it right? so whats happened is the U bolt has squished the outer exhaust pipe onto the inner, and rust is holding it there. get a metal hammer and hit it all the way around on the bit where the u bolt has squished, and itll start to wriggle free. then hit it more and twist the two pipes apart.

edit* you have to be pretty brutal. but what you are trying to do is use the inner pipe to make the outer flat again... make sense?

Bust it wide open like a cheerleader

Get a screwdriver to separate the two halves. You can *massage* it back into shape once you have it off.
