The VE police cars in WA came with 16" steel pursuit style rims. These are just the same as an Omega's rim but without the hubcap. See the link below for the specs of the VE Omega which confirm the 16x7 steel rims;

I think that all pre-VE 16's were alloys. If they had a steel spare, it was a 15. That would mean that the VE 16 steels are the only ones available. (I think)
Oh, forgot to mention that if you buy a VE rim, you will need it machined if its to fit on an earlier model commodore. Places that can do the machining in Perth for you are;
Alliance Rim Repairs in Malaga
Performance Mods in Osborne Park
I have never had rims machined but have read threads where others have had them done at these places. Prices are approx $60 per rim.
so, is it the offset or the pcd that's the problem? it's a bit of a shame it doesn't just fit straight up, can i buy the rims from holden? or should i just look for people parting out ve's or go to wreckers?

What about a tyre shop close to a Holden dealer that supplies their aftermarket wheels? Steel rims should be cheap as being "pull offs"

Its the lip on the wheel hub that needs to be machined. Read the link below for more info and it also draws attention to wheel nuts;

ah right so it's the middle hole, are they pretty safe then? i guess if you don't grind to much off, and it stays center (i won't be doing it myself anyways lol) reason i ask it cause it's just easier to have the same size rim all round and same tires, cbf buying a different tyre for a 15" spare and trying to make it all match

some of the crewmans had 16" interceptor style wheels, and you wouldnt have to machine the centres.
really? cause that might be easier, are they just spares on them or did they have a full set

VZ Crewman ran the 16x7" from stock, i'm fairly sure?

You shouldn't really machine a VE steel wheel, try and find some crewmans.
