Default Where to buy MAF cleaner?

    Hi Guys

I am after a can of MAF cleaner spray (apparently its the only safe thing to use to clean your MAF Sensor)

Does anyone know who in SA sells it?

I have tried supercheap and sprints and they don't carry it.

My MAF sensor is filthy and think it is affecting my fuel/air ratio.

    Thanks All

Yep, buy a can of Electrical Contact Cleaner. Personally, I wouldn't risk using anything else.

We stock MAF cleaner at Burson. Would imagine Repco and Supercheap having it as well.

ummm spanner in the works here but anyways!
most afm after ...... hmmm before vl rb30 onwards
have a self cleaning element, as in they heat up on certain ignitions and burn the crap that is stuck to them off
only real way people inadvertantly kill afm is too use too much pd filter oil and it sucks through onto the elements/wires
and causes it to run lean.... possibly causing engine damage

do not use CARBY CLEANER as it leaves an oily LUBRICATING residue

to clean MAF without killing it:
    • remove it from car (UNPLUGGED AT LEAST & IGNITION OFF)
    • get some electrical terminal spray or MAF cleaner (repco i used a year ago) or even brake cleaner.
    • spray it only on wires hanging inside the pipe not at base where connector comes out
    • then leave to dry for 1 hour (2 hours if brake cleaner)
    • then refit and use

leaving it to dry will stop it from burning out on the self clean cycle due to decreased resistance by contamination of liquid (the cleaner)

    good luck and stuff...........
you probably dont have an afm problem they generally die all together when they go~!
