Do you take it to holden, A big name store eg: Ultra tune, Auto masters etc, your local small business or do you just do it yourself?
Wanted to see what the most popular choice was and feel free to rant about the bad experiences you have had with companies, GO!
I take mine to the mechanic my Dad's been using for as long as I can remember. He has his own shop, only a small business. He knows me and my car on a personal level and he looks after me on prices which I think is something you can't beat.
That's why I would never take my car to a big name store, I think all personal level is lost.
Me. I've never paid for a service.
I have always done the work myself, and I have mates who work for the big car company's so I sometimes get lucky enough to score some free oils and filters for the little jobs...
But I do have a mechanic that I trust who isnt a direct friend and I can rely on him to do good work on my car if Im to busy to get it sorted myself or its too big of a job.
I always service my cars myself, then I can see for myself if brakes, tyres, or anything else is worn out and needs replacing, instead of someone else telling me theres something wrong when its actually still good.
I service my cars. Only time my cars go to mechanics is if I don't have the tool needed, like a bearing press or wheel alignment machine.

So it looks like people enjoy getting in there and working on there own cars.
my friend, he has access to engine cranes etc, he's done all the hard work pulling motor out for rear main seal. simple oil change + filters and plugs i can do i did my crank angle sensor as well borrowed a pulley puller from said friend
I do all 3 of mine, I don't trust mechanics.....have never been to one and not been screwed over
myself, considering i work at a transmission shop
I, + dad if i need a second set of hands
All we know is, His name is VKCOMMO
i do the services on my own, do the engine rebuilds on my own and i never seem to have a god damned time to myself as every other stain wants me to do theirs as well

assuming your looking for someone in mandurah i wouldnt touch mandurah holden with a 10 foot pole. but then again its up to you. i personally take my car to ultratune mandurah and they have always been upfront and honest and overall ive been very satisfied with them.
I have a warranty for my car so back to dealer for my services. Hating it they charge you heaps and do shit all but its definitely worth it for that warranty

^With my warranty i can take it anywhere, as long as they do it in the logbook.

I get the mechanic down the road to do some things like services and braking - I don't think just any old idiot (such as me) should play with brakes themselves. I installed my suspension myself, purely because it was a time consuming job.

Only with new car warranty. Used car warranty (not worth the paper its written on) they usually say it must be serviced by the dealership that sold it to you.
I do my own servicing, but take it to a mechanic every few services for a safety check, to spot anything I miss.
