Would you swap my vs ss manual for a vl Calais manual. I keep my 19s with brand new tyres and get 500 cash my way. My vs has brand new clutch, box, diff, pads, disks. Does need a bit of work. Has 260000. Vl has 280000 all electrics work. 5k on the vl. I'm also selling vs for 5k. But I get an adjustment. Vl is silver. Vs is green blue colour.
I'm pretty keen to do turbo conversion. Vl would pass Rwc. It's clean as. Wheels are xhp shorelines, white walled.
its still downgrading tho.... the VS is a much nicer car to drive compared to the VL
Don't do it, the VS is a much nicer car to both look at and drive
Wat about power wise? For a couple of grand 300hp in the vl is pretty easy. The vs on the other hand would cost more. I need a registered car til I do some more upgrades either way, have owned the 5l for 4.5 years. Kinda over it.
depends on your gut instints. a little bit of work and you could have the vl up to a 8 to 12 grand car.

6g for a raptor and 10 for a wipple? I'm talking 2g to have a vl turbo with half decent power. Injectors, turbo, fuel reg, pump, turbo ecu, manifold are all more excessable than to do the same to a vs.
And then your left with a 150fwkw engine whereas your VS SS makes 185fwkw stock already, with ~340fwkw attainable with a simple bolt on supercharger kit and it will also have a mountain of torque.
With all the people saying keep the VS and you still making arguments for the VL, it sounds to me like you have already made up your mind and you simple wanted some verification from other.

Get a photo of the vl and your vs, a calais manual is harder to find, but for a vs ss manual, im not so sure i'd swap it lol
Well my first thoughts were I sold a stock vl Calais manual in slightly worth condition for 1400. But I want some sort of boost without paying so much for a charger. I already broke the vs t5 the clutch and diff. I've spent over 2500 just replacing these parts. Plus pretty much full overhaul. It's probably due for a rebuild real soon. You could buy an rb30 for 300 top dollar show me a 304 you could buy???? This vs has bin the BIGGEST money pit. So wen you spend 30g on 1 and can't get 5 for the old bucket of shit then you let me know which 1 is better. And just to add t5s must be held together with jam or some shit cause there weak as piss.
Oh yeah a vl will be way less of a money pit -.-

#### that,no way would i swap a vs for a vl, unless it was a walky![]()
It sounds to me you've already made up your mind mate. If you want the VL just get it.
It isn't just a manual vl it's a Calais
go the calais.
waaaaaay nicer to look at than a big ugly VS boat![]()
Another vote for keep the VS
The only way I would trade a VS SS in as good condition as yours would be if the VL was a group a
i would personally keep the vs, however its your car and you will be the one driving it, regardless of what people on here say, you are the one stick with the car. Yes your car has had problems but dont forget the vl is even older and could have potentially more problems than the current vs. Long story short your car, your call.
