    Default Possible new car,

Today i went an looked at this VT that has been in a low speed accident.
The damage doesn't look to serious, new bonnet, guard, headlight an possibly front bar my only concern is the radiator support bar behind the headlight.

With the wheel off i cant see any further damage,
    My questions are
    1. How much do you think im up for to fix it? ( i can get a bonnet an guard cheap)
    2. How hard is it to get a vehicle off the repairable write of register

I guess il leave the pics do the rest.
(Sorry bout the large pics was going to resize them but thought i would leave them bigger so you could see more detail)

its hard to see but it is pushed in slightly an lifted

thats the best shot i have of it
edit- The plan will be to take the guard and headlight off an then use a block an tackle to pull it back out, the wheel arch is fine

6-7K for a workshop to fix.

4 panels to paint. headlights. front bar, grille.

I am speaking from experience, having had an extremely similar accident.

Doing it yourself ? Depends how good a panel beater you are.

as for getting it off the list i thinks its about $400-$500
if its a v6 $600 for a damaged 1 inst that cheap you can get a complete going 1 for a $1000-$1200 off ebay

It looks like there is slight distortion of the inner guard. Look in the third pic above the air cleaner. There is a hole in the inner guard that is bent slightly outwards which possibly indicates that the inner guard has been pushed back slightly.

If that is the worst you can find, it wouldn't be a complex repair to undertake at home.

I'd sure buy it, but then, I'd also undertake the complete repair including paintwork, so labour costs would not come into it.

It doesn't look too bad. But is it really worth the bother? There are plenty of cheap, undamaged and good running VTs out there. For the money you'd probably spend getting this one on the road, you could buy a better one.

I plan on doing it all myself at home, Im hoping to have it on the road for 2k or less, also i found out it hasn't been put on the repairable write off register so thats a bonus.

Not sure about car prices where you are but they are bloody expensive up here, the lowest price i could find for a vt in good running order was 3k plus. An im not going to travel to get a car because that's just more expenses.

The Vt is in immaculate condition other then the dent in the front, its got stainless extractors, full exhaust an lowish Kms.
