You never ever let a potential buyer take your car for a test drive without you in the car with them,but if you do then you need to get his/her license # and address details just incase things like this happen,hope it was insured?

I seen this happen on an underground video i own, the American test drove a mid 90's camaro, absolutely flogged the shit out of it for about 20mins. However in this case it was a dealership he was test driving it from. The guy took it back with bashed in wheels, rubber sprayed all up the rear guards and the way he was driving over the pedestrian islands probably bashed in exhaust also. The man collected his license and nothing happen at all to him. Wanker eh?

Not good man. Bit more common sense might have helped. Even meeting people at servos and stuff doesnt help as my mate had a gun pulled on him and had his car taken. Really got to screen people alot before meeting them. I never would take more than one person out and they have to show me a very large deposit & see there drivers licence before I would even open the garage door. They can drive the car when they own it.

Same here. Not only motor vehicles, but with anything, people are too stand offish these days about inviting others into their homes.

It's a shame too it's just the way things are going, but people feel that they can't trust 9 out of 10 people they come across.

I don't agree with anyone's comments about the seller being silly and so forth. If i'm selling a car i'm more than happy to invite the potential buyer around for a chat, look, drive, or what ever. I don't want to meet some stiff in a parking lot at the shopping centre because he reckons i'm going to stick him for his ride.

I'm not surprised either that someone showed up with 3 of their mates. Often when someone is looking at cars they don't have a car at the time, so a mate is driving them around. Plus we know what guy's are like with cars, if one of your mates is looking at a car how many of us have gone along for the day.

The last car i sold was at my house to a guy who came around with 2 of his mates. I had no dramas, was i silly ? I don't think so......
