I was wondering how hard it is to get the piston out of the calipers on a VY?? long story short ive got a little bit of $hit in there (masking tape) that i want to get out
The easiest way is to use compressed air, put a rag in between the piston and the caliper where the rotor would sit, then blow it out with compressed air.
The messy way is to pump the brake pedal until it comes out. But if you have masking tape on it, just pump the pedal slowly until the piston is out far enough to get the tape off. (providing the caliper is still attached to the brake line).
well i took them off to paint them and i put some masking tape in the thread and then some over the top cause i didnt want any paint getting in and then one of my mates who was helping me put it back on without getting the tape out and when i tried to get it it fell in behind one of the pistons... looks like it'll be the messy way for me then
dammit i hate bleeding brakes lol
