    Default Waterpump + Bolts

Okay, Just got a set of Timing Cover and waterpump bolts.. Also got a new waterpump..

But I dont know where the bolts go.. When I first stripped the engine I lost a few bolts.. and I just pulled them out without taking note.. so Im lost :P

    Theres a picture...
Does anyone have a diagram or such to show me what bolt goes where.. (its for 253cui engine if that helps)

Generally, there should be about 12 to 15 mm of threaded portion of the bolt used when it's fully home. You can work out what goes where by putting the timing cover and water pump on to the block, then checking the depth of each bolt hole with a thin screwdriver. There are dowels in the block that will hold the parts in place. Insert the screwdriver into each bolt hole, marking the depth of each hole by placing your thumb on the shank. Then compare the depth of the shank against the bolts. You should have about 15mm or so of thread left over so you can work out which bolt belongs where.
