Hey guys
I got done doing 138 in a 100 zone so 6 points and 6 months lose of licence.
Im in Victoria so When i get the letter From Vic roads do they give me the Option to go 1 year on 1 point?
Cheers
I dunno if they will for something serious...plus if you are on p's and lost 6 points...
they'll take ya 5 then when you get ya license back take another one..
why were you doing 138 in a 100 zone??
Maybe you don't deserve your license...it is a privilege not a right.
true but we all fk up. at least he is up front and not straight into "what letter can i write asking to be let off" or " is there any loopholes i can use to get out of this".
saying that he will still have to take his medicine, which i assume will be some sort of loss of license.
quick glance on the vicroads website and it appears that if you arent on your P plates you will be able to appeal for 1 year 1 point, keeping in mind if you lose that point its a 12 month loss of license.
Yeah true man...but I kinda see a slip up as ripping a skid round a corner, or doing 110 in 100 zone..
138 is abit much in my opinion...I mean we all do hoon..but yeah..
Any who yeah atleast he isnt asking the above questions...nothing worse then doing
the crime and not paying the time
i thought it was a 1 point 6 month thing?? or 3 months lost license or something?
(the following IS FACT, as i made the same mistake, and went through it all)
that speed over = 6 month loss AND 6 points.
in a month or so, you will receive a letter saying to hand in your licence for 6 months suspension, you have NO choice on this matter. after that 6 months is up, you will receive another letter a few weeks after that, stating you have lost 6 points, and are offered the choice of 1 point for 12 months, or another 3(from memory) months licence loss.
make the most of your driving until the letter turns up in the mail, coz after that you're gonna be walking a LOT.
I had i look at Vicroads and it does seem that i have the option Demerit point options - VicRoads because it says if i get 5 or more i will recieve a letter giving me the following 2 options.
And yeah i was just catching up to a mate so it was only for 5 seconds i had my foot down but just so happens there was a cop in the dark
learner permit or probationary driver licence and you get 5 or more demerit points in any 12 month period or you get 12 or more demerit points in any 3 year period,
you will be advised by VicRoads that you have these demerit points and given a notice with two options, as follows.
Demerit point options - VicRoads
Apprently if you recieve 5 or more you will recieve a letter
Yeah but it says learner permit or probationary driver licence and you get 5 or more demerit points in any 12 month period
take it from me.... loose your licence for the 3months (if you are that is)
I took the 1 point option and it lasted 3months, got done 13km over and lost mine for 6 months - if I just did the 3month suspension option it would've been less painless on my wife
plus you should get some if not most of your points back after the suspension - well thats in QLD
But more time for modifications the longer you get![]()
The 1 point 1 year option is only for loss of license due to running out of points. For 24km/h or more over its an instant loss of license so they dont give you that option unfortunately
Maybe this should be in the things that annoy you thread.
Posting up such a question will have people calling you a ########, if you are into abuse then go ahead, but wouldn't it be better to ring VIC Roads and ask them instead of copping crap for being a ######## on a public forum?

Ah running late for work sucks
Well that doesn’t really come as any surprise. However the way both of these manage road safety leads me to pretty much dismiss their opinions really. Until road safety is addressed with something a little more than tax collection I will make my own mind up.
Who gave the Police or the politicians (a transient group) the right to declare it a privilege? The cash cow motorist pays through the nose for the roads and their upkeep and for the policing of them. I consider it then a right to be able to drive on these roads. Ideologically we are supposed to live in a free country. Why would anybody with a “modicum of common sense” believe that it is somehow a privilege for us to drive on these roads in cars we have bought with money we have earned. Is it a privilege to operate any other piece of machinery? A lawnmower, a power drill, a chainsaw? Nothing else I can think of that we do and especially nothing that forms so much of most people’s daily lives would be similarly accepted as a privilege.
That tired old line is merely propaganda to keep all the good little sheep under control.

I see a license as a privilege...and I treat it as such.
People who think its ok to speed and such, break laws, deserve
whatever treatment they get...
fair enough ya one slip up, but I bet a lot of people
say it was an accident yet find themselves doing 120 in a 100 zone every
day...
Instead of gay arse carbon taxes maybe the government
should improve our roads, road laws and way better training
for people going for their license...
