Hi guys, just got 20" wheels put on my vx ss and it feels like the car is goin faster than 60 when i sit on 60 by the spedo. Could it be out.
What profile tyres are on it?
Chances are its out. However, when I went from 18 to 20's mine actually dropped about 3k's.
its got 245 30 20
You might be ok. Just grab a phone and download a speedometer type program.
Same as above sort of thing
Try using a gps and looking at the speedo on that, see if there is a variation from your speedo that will tell you
That's what my vy has on it and it's out by 2-3 km/h at 100km/h. So you would t notice it at 60k's. I think ya mind is playing tricks on you
Use Google and search for miata.net tire size, you should be able to work it out from there.
my VY has 20's on it too and its out by 2-3kph at 100 as well
245/30R20 is the correct tyre size for a VY, the difference in rolling diameter from the stock size to the 20" size isn't so bad.

easiest way to tell is borrow or use your gps
My VY was 5% out, can get it reprogrammed to suit, either Holden, or someone handy, with the right tools - Phreddy, if you use a GPS make sure its on flat ground, apparently they can't work out if you're going up a hill so it thinks you're going slower than you really are![]()

Well i got 225/35/20 on mine, (being a larger profile, i'm doing 103kph when it displays 100kph), you've got the right size so you should be fine.
20's with correct tyres make little or no differnce, use a GPS to check your speed, my car was doing 50km when the speedo read 57km after I changed the diff and was 25km out at 100km/ph just check it with a GPS and if your that worried next time you buy tyre get the correct size. Speak to your local tyre shop if the tyre cal. app's dont make any sense.
225/35/20 or 245/30/20 are two acceptable and legal sizes.
