Check engine light

Hi peoples
Im only new on this forum & was wondering if I could pick your brains on a problem that has developed in my car today
Its an 11/03 statesman V8 with 65000 klm on the clock , the problem that happened today was the check engine warning light came on , I stopped it and checked everything that I could eg oil water auto trans , the only thing that I could find was the auto trans was down 1/2 litre, but the warning still comes on , Ive pressed the mode button as per service book , it only comes on when its in a low gear i;e taking off from a stop
Any help would be greatly appreciated

you need to get the fault codes out and see what is sending to light off
