    Default L67 Engine Number

    Hey guys,

I bought a L67 engine, and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to find out if its out of a VS/VT/VX/VY. I know how to identify the N/A V6 but not the L67.

    Thanks in advance.

as far as i know if you look where the series is stamped on the block, if its an ecotech it will say series 2 where an L67 will be a series 1(from what ive been told by an ex holden mechanic)

Mine says series 2 but I ecotec engine numbers start with VA and VH, where my engine number starts with VR.

Yeah thats what I thought, I think I read somewhere before that L67 start with VS but have never heard of them starting with VR. Maybe mine really is out of a VY I just wanted to make sure. I know it's definitely not out of a VS because this only has 1 temperature sensor.

Thanks mate, thats what I was looking for. So my engine number being VR284279, i'd say it's definitely out of a VY.

Thanks for your help once again

The engine numbers run in series with just the prefix changing so you can place your engine in the time line.

The above numbers are just what I have collected over the years per model and can give some indication of when an engine was built.

Now i'm really confused..... Please help.....

Just got my Reco engine, it had a tag on it saying VY Supercharged V6, but the engine number on it is VH020882.

My first thoughts are it's a VR or VS N/A block with L67 heads and probably L67 internals?

Engine number with "VH" is not a S/C block.

Yeah thats what I thought. I hope that they put the S/C pistons, conrods, etc. I might have to ring up the place I bought it from and ask them....
