Default removing dried glue (not sikaflex) from guard?

Hi,i bought a bonnet and guards the other day and the drivers guard has dried glue from when someone has tried to reattach the mould to it.

instead of using sikaflex some dope has used something like spray adhesive or super glue etc.
any ideas on what to use to remove it?

    so far ive tried,
    :wax and grease remover
    :turps
:heating it up with a heat gun
:heating it up with boiling water
    :carby cleaner
:tried to pick it off with a razor blade

i then went and bought and tried,
    :nail polish remover
    :caramel wheel
:bought some stuff called "goof off". (started taking the paint off slightly in one spot)
    :tried again with the blade.

its on there pretty good so any other ideas on what to try and get it off with without wrecking the paint (anymore then whats been done already)?
a detailer reckons try thinners but im not sure?
    any ideas?

i would give throttle and carby cleaner ago mate
what i did (even though it was for sikaflex) is i sprayed it on then got a plastic scraper used a heat gun come off slowly
if your real careful on the scraping you shouldn't removed any paint . I was rough with it because the time i spent on removing it was a joke so i hacked at it haha

Have you tried a glue remover? Superglue remover removes a range of glue, and you can get it from your local hoby shop, but other shops might have it as well.

I would have said razor blade and caramel wheel, but you have already tried that...

Have you tried Kitten Cutting Compound? Has got me out of heaps of trouble with crap being stuck on the car, just don't use the Cuting compound on paint! Only Cut and polish, because the Pure Cutting compound is like sand paper... I LOVE IT

But yeah.. glue remover... In short :P
