All the same engine with same power out put in the v6?
VT VX are 147KW @ the fly, VY is 152KW @ the fly.
So pretty much, yes.
What dose the vs do?
I'm pretty sure it's the same figures at VT-VX, but someone correct me if i'm wrong.
Honestly, if you stuck them all next to eachother they're pretty much all even.
VT series 2 run slightly better as they have individual cyl spark control where as all previous V6 were firing two plugs at a time. Claimed power figures are the same though. VT S1 (im pretty sure may be S2 onwards) have an EGR system for emissions.
2004 VY might make a little more (unofficially) because they have dual cats.
Wow really mixed answers hmmmm thanks guys i think I get it
I read it off this website:
Holden VX Commodore / Calais
Now curious i googled it and got:
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au...mmodore_vx.htm
http://www.myautomotiveforum.com.au/commodores/vx.php
Im going to have to see what the genuine holden manuals say next time im at tafe.
all 3 sites have pretty much exactly the same text(last one is worded differently, but its definately from the same source).
the 3 coils used, only have 2 pins, a negative trigger, and a 12v supply. when each coil receives a trigger, it puts spark out both plug terminals, no way(that i can see) that it can spark each plug terminal individually
What it means is that the ECU can retard/advance spark individually for each cylinder.
It still runs a wasted spark system.
