Hey guys and gals,
I put lowered springs in my car the other day (vu commo if it matters) but now there is a gap between the top of the strut where the little plate with the rubber
ring mounts to the top of the spring and the body. I was just wondering if there is supposed to be a gap, and/or if i need to buy a different plate to accommodate the lowered suspension.
Cheers,
Dave.
Did you replace the rubber Strut Tops & Bearings while the strut was out?
Did you put the strut top plates & washes back in the same way?
Did he strut go back into the tower properly?
As you can see quite a few questions and depending on the answer could be a problem... but having said this, installing lowered springs should not affect the plate at the top.
If you're unsure take it to a suspension specialist for a quick look/inspection.
Yeah, Everything went back in the same way, was I supposed to replace the rubber boots? if i have to, ill pull the struts back out being an apprentice mechanic i love working on my car!!
Cheers.
